At Gas On Wheels, safety is engineered into every step of our process — from how we fill cylinders at our licensed plant, to how our trained delivery staff handle and install them at your home.
Every cylinder is inspected before filling, filled to the correct pressure and weight, sealed, and transported in properly equipped vehicles. Our delivery staff are trained in safe gas installation and know exactly what to check when exchanging or connecting a cylinder.
We also believe educated customers are safer customers — read our safety tips below to ensure your household is using gas correctly.
Follow these guidelines to keep your household safe when using cooking gas.
Never use your gas stove in a completely enclosed room. Keep a window or door open to ensure proper ventilation while cooking.
Always turn off your burner when leaving the kitchen. An unattended flame is a fire risk — always check before you leave.
Inspect your regulator hose for cracks or wear. Apply soapy water to connections — if bubbles form, there's a leak. Don't use until fixed.
If you suspect a gas leak, do NOT use a match or lighter to check. Open windows and doors and contact us immediately.
Always store gas cylinders in an upright position in a cool, well-ventilated area. Never store cylinders on their side or near heat sources.
Store cylinders out of reach of children. Ensure children are not unsupervised near gas appliances or cylinders.
Always turn off the cylinder valve after cooking — not just the stove knob. This prevents slow leaks and is a critical safety habit.
Old hoses and regulators wear out over time. Replace your regulator and hose every 2–3 years or if you notice discolouration, cracking, or hardening.
If you smell gas strongly: do not switch on any lights or appliances, open all windows, leave the building, and call us immediately at +234 704 686 3716.
If you suspect a serious gas leak, follow these steps immediately.
Stay calm. Do not switch on or off any electrical switches or appliances.
Turn off the cylinder valve immediately if safe to do so without sparking.
Ventilate the area immediately. Open doors and windows to disperse the gas.
